This is Darian Mederos

For Darian Mederos, a painting is never the same for two people. Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, in 1992, he trained at the Leopoldo Romañach art school and Havana's San Alejandro academy. He left Cuba alone at twenty-two, moved to Miami and now lives and works in Spain. Hyperrealist portraits gave way to the painted bubble wrap of Obscura, then to fragmented figures and spaces. Precision remains a foundation, while observation, decisions and revisions allow each image to change. The viewer brings another layer: memories, feelings and a life of their own. Mederos leaves room for those associations, allowing the painting to become personal without giving it one fixed meaning.
