About this work Plus

Two figures surface from a deep, enveloping darkness. Red light moves across them in a way that feels both deliberate and accidental, as though the scene is being revealed rather than illuminated. Behind them, barely perceptible, a third presence lingers. It is easy to miss, and impossible to forget once noticed.

Captured in-camera by Sasha Elage, this image involves no post-production of any kind. The light, the colour, the atmosphere are all the result of physical materials and precise timing. Elage does not reconstruct reality. He intervenes in it at the point of exposure, using light the way a painter might use a brush, to reshape what is already there.

The two horses stand not as subjects but as witnesses, figures suspended in a scene that feels arrested mid-transformation. It is an image that holds its secrets loosely, offering more with each return. “I thought there were only two. Then later I realized there was something else.”

Printed to museum-quality standards, the edition is produced on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm cotton paper using archival pigment inks. All materials are acid-free and OBA-free, ensuring exceptional depth, texture, and longevity.

How a release works Plus

We release limited editions that are fixed in quantity, meaning we will only ever produce a specific number of prints or sculptures. In the case of time-limited editions, the artwork is available for a set period, and the final edition size is determined by how many pieces are sold during that window. Once that time frame ends, no more will be made, making each piece truly exclusive.

Upon arrival, each piece will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
